At The Long Note Vocal Studio, we believe that singing is a skill that can be learned by anyone who has the passion and dedication to do so. We encourage our students to joyfully explore their musical interests and talents, and we support them in achieving their personal and professional goals.
The Long Note Vocal Studio aims to be a supportive and inspiring learning environment where artists can feel confident to explore their full vocal potential and express their musical identity in a safe space that encourages experimentation and improvisation. We appreciate and celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of our students and instructors, and we strive to create a friendly, inclusive, and FUN environment where everyone can feel comfortable and confident to express themselves musically.
At the Long Note Vocal Studio, you will learn from an experienced and passionate instructor who can help you reach your goals as a vocalist and performer. We offer personalised and professional lessons and coaching for singers of all styles and abilities. Our students receive constructive feedback and guidance on how to improve your vocal technique, vocal health, repertoire, and style. You will learn to sing with confidence and expression without sacrificing the technique required to thrive as a working vocalist.
Lessons at The Long Note Vocal Studio are tailored to each artist to help you reach your individual goals. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced singer, The Long Note Vocal Studio will help you discover your true potential and unleash your inner voice. All ages and abilities are welcome. We teach most styles of modern singing, and if we are unable to accommodate your particular needs, we will be able to direct you to a suitable alternative instructor in most cases.

Founder and Teacher - Rebecca Davey
The Long Note Vocal Studio was founded by Rebecca Davey, a multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, and performer with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. Rebecca has both founded and performed with various bands and artists in Melbourne, Australia. She has recorded several albums and has won numerous awards throughout her career as a vocalist, keynote speaker and performer.
Rebecca is a classically trained vocalist, and an acclaimed live performer throughout Australia and the USA. She has been performing both as a soloist, and in Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Blues bands for over 25 years. Most recently, Rebecca worked and toured exclusively as the lead singer for award winning, internationally acclaimed Melbourne Blues Band, “Dreamboogie” (2010-2020).
Rebecca has performed at the Queenscliff Music Festival, Fringe Festival, Wonderland Spiegeltent, Bird’s Basement, The Espy, The Tote, Airlie Beach Music Festival, Australian Blues Music Festival, Inverloch Jazz Festival, amongst many, many others. She has won numerous awards and represented Australia internationally twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee (reaching the semi-finals in 2016). Rebecca and the bands she worked with have achieved repeated chart success with their recordings, including on the AMRAP AirIT Charts, and Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Chart.
In the past, Rebecca has provided mentor sessions and music education to attendees at workshops held for MBAS Youth in Blues, MBAS Women in Blues, Supporting Women in Blues, and Blue Note Music School amongst many others. Rebecca has co-hosted radio shows on PBS FM, and been interviewed numerous times on ABC Radio, Triple R FM, PBS FM, 3CR, 3NRG, Southern FM and many other stations both nationwide, and in the US.
Rebecca is an experienced public speaker and has won awards for her speeches about her personal journey as a musician and the artist’s path. She is now providing private lessons direct to artists and vocalists with The Long Note Vocal Studio.
